Dealing with inflation and subsidy rationalisation

Kadar inflasi naik? Subsidy rationalisation  (urgh, what is that?) Today let's share tips on how to deal with this (based on what I listened on radio on the way to work today)

  1. change our lifestyle - reduce expenses, cut n cut n cut costs. These are all my suggestions, it is up to you whether you want to apply it or not
    • bring 'bekal' for meals
    • drink plain water only, its good for your health anyway (So, you pay 20/30 sen instead of RM1.70 or more for a glass of teh beng)
    • bring even plain water if you are going out
    • for mommies with babies, please breastfeed... it is good for your baby, yourself and your pocket. Invest in a good breastpump which can last long.
    • go for cloth diapers instead of disposable diapers. (I am referring to the modern cloth diapers and not napkin + seluar getah.)
    • go for non-branded items e.g. instead of FAB/Dynamo change to Tesco, First Choice brand
    • start the washing machine only when it is fully loaded
    • switch off all lights, fans, airconds and electrical points when not in need
    • you can even 'kumpul air lepas wuduk' in buckets to 'flush toilets'
    • switch off car engine while you wait.
    • reduce excess baggage in your car.
    • plan your trips. If you need to do multiple stops, go for the farthest first. (I read this somewhere long time ago).
  2. if we cannot change our lifestyle and reduce more expenses, then it is time to get more money :( How? There are many ways, which may not work for everyone. Examples:
    • selling items online - must be something which is of your passion and your strength
    • doing part-time jobs. You can click here for a suggestion on a no start-up cost part-time job (Peluang Kerjaya)
And the list goes on... Hope this list will be beneficial to us.
